Membership

The DFOG currently has 43 member stations as detailed in the table below. Membership in the DFOG provides the following benefits:

  • Access to the DFOG listserv to facilitate timely sharing of plant-specific operating experience and to ask questions of other members regarding specific diesel fuel challenges. All past conversations held via the listserv can be searched by keyword (back to 2011). This is a valuable tool for benchmarking and comparison of best practices between plants.
  • Access to the DFOG website to facilitate sharing of documents (industry DFO reports/studies, white papers, DFOG guidance documents, past presentations, NRC documents, specifications, etc.). Each DFOG member has a unique username and password to access the site.
  • The support of industry diesel fuel experts, with experience in fuel storage and testing, response to microbial contamination, and fuel tank maintenance. Many of the experts are active participants on ASTM Committee D02 "Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels, and Lubricants."
  • Participation in the annual DFOG meeting. These meetings provide excellent opportunities for members to discuss diesel fuel quality challenges they are facing and to interact with industry experts. Each meeting includes a training session and/or a tour of a facility. The meetings are regularly attended by industry diesel fuel experts from Southwest Research Institute, Fuel Quality Services, Fuel Tank Maintenance Company, and SGS Herguth Labs.
  • Participation in periodic teleconferences/video conference meetings.
  • Access to technical reports from the annual meeting and teleconferences. These reports summarize all technical and programmatic discussions held at the meeting/teleconference and can be downloaded and searched by keyword for a specific topic.
  • The use of the DFO Chemistry Data Storage and Trending database, a comprehensive diesel fuel quality database, which enables the nuclear industry to track and trend changes in diesel fuel quality on a plant-by-plant basis, regional basis, and national basis. This tool provides excellent benchmarking information and enables proactive mitigation of negative fuel quality trends.
